For this STEAM lesson, science teacher Matt Hilton lectured on the basic principles of photography. He discussed the difference between a camera and a cell phone, and the students talked about the pros and cons of each medium.

Watch as one of the students reads a portion of the lesson and Matt prepares to distribute film negatives to them.

Students looked at film negatives while hearing about silver compounds, emulsion, and light exposure.

Lastly, students were given a piece of solar paper to expose to sunlight. This light-sensitive paper helps illustrate the process of the negative.
