INTERNATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
WIF is proud to partner with Going Global with Barbara (GGwB), an organization devoted to exposing African-American youth to the possibilities that exist through travel and study abroad, on its International Youth Leadership Program. This organization is normalizing the conversation around college admissions and expanding it to include the possibility of studying abroad.
After the success of its inaugural trip in April 2022, GGwB brought a second group of high school students to Paris in November 2022. WIF replicated the itinerary organized for the April cohort (a visit to the American University of Paris, a university-focused Entrée to Black Paris tour, and a networking dinner with Black university students from several universities and members of L’ACICS, an organization devoted to exposing people of all ages to the depth and breadth of the contributions Black people have made to civilization throughout the ages) and added a visit to Parsons Paris to the mix.
Seven (7) female teens aged 13-17 participated in this excursion.

Fatimata Djibrine, now a senior at AUP, once again served as campus guide for the group.
ENTREE TO BLACK PARIS WALKING TOUR
WIF Founder & CEO, Dr. Monique Y. Wells, is also a co-owner of Entrée to Black Paris. She led the group on ETBP’s Black Paris after World War II tour, the first part of which focuses heavily on Paris universities.
PARSONS PARIS
WIF organized a visit to Parsons Paris to address the interest many of the students expressed in the arts and fashion design. After a campus tour, Senior Director of Enrollment and Admissions and Assistant Vice President for International Recruitment Mike Fakih spoke to the group about the college admissions process and all the opportunities that enrollment at Parsons Paris offers.
NETWORKING DINNER AT LE WIRI WIRI
Students from the Sorbonne, the American University of Paris, and Parsons Paris joined the Going Global cohort for a wonderful meal.
THANKSGIVING DINNER
The Going Global cohort, their chaperones, a Sorbonne student, and WIF celebrated Thanksgiving with a traditional meal, karaoke, and games.
