The testing of medical devices and chemicals – pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, agricultural chemicals, and cosmetic ingredients – is an essential part of bringing safe and efficacious products to market for human use. This is required by law.
With the passage of time and the changing economic climate, sponsoring companies in the Western world have increasingly sought to outsource this work to CROs in developing nations with the intent to fulfill testing requirements at lower cost. Yet all too frequently, they found that the quality of the work performed at these institutions was not up to the standards they expected.
These circumstances lead to delays in the development process, which has a direct, negative impact on governmental approval for products that are designed to improve human health and well being.
Through our Preclinical Safety SFA, WIF provides a full range of training and mentoring for laboratories desiring to raise awareness of best practices and increase competencies in preclinical safety assessment for their scientists and technical staff.
We focus on the provision of training and mentoring in:
- Laboratory animal medicine and management
- Anatomic pathology
- Clinical pathology
- Necropsy
- Histology
- Report writing
- Good Laboratory Practice
WIF benefits from founder and CEO Dr. Monique Y. Wells’ extensive network of contacts and will take advantage of her pre-established ties with organizations around the world to create teams that introduce training or augment training already provided to CROs located in developing nations.
You can create tangible, positive change in people’s lives
All things are poisons, for there is nothing without poisonous qualities. It is only the dose which makes a thing poison.
