Our Initiatives
The Wells International Foundation (WIF) is a strong proponent of the STEM to STEAM movement – that is, putting the Art in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Creative geniuses such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs were all highly artistic as well as scientific in their pursuits.
Through our STEAM SFA, WIF helps women, children, and youth (particularly those of African descent) embrace and pursue STEM careers and excel at them by developing their artistic talents to their fullest potential.
We provide opportunities for:
- Educators to learn how to incorporate arts into methodologies for teaching math and science
- Children and youth to discover and embrace STEAM activities
- College/graduate student women pursuing STEAM disciplines to maximize their chances of success in their chosen fields
WIF also acknowledges that technology can be a powerful means of introducing the arts to previously unexposed or underexposed audiences.
You can create tangible, positive change in people’s lives
STEAM programs “educate both halves of the brain and prepare students for success in a world that values a well-rounded and innovative workforce.”
